Angels & Demons

I just finished reading Dan Brown’s other book Angels & Demons (which I received for my birthday …. Thanks Jenni). Of course his most famous work is The Da Vinci Code. I have read both books and to tell you the truth I believe Angels & Demons is a better book. Both are very similar is some ways, but Angels & Demons was an easier read and the book hits the ground running and never lets up. There is a lot of action that all takes place in the span of 24 hours. So if you can separate fiction from non-fiction Angels & Demons is a good read and more than likely cheaper than The Da Vinci Code. Not to make it sound like I didn’t enjoy The Da Vinci Code because I did. I am just saying that if you like it you will love Angels & Demons.

Heather Update and Birthday

Heather is feeling much better today. She still has a sore throat and a cough, but she is feeling much better. Keep the prayers coming.

My birthday yesterday was good. It was a long day at work, but I got a lot of happy birthdays from people at work. Mom and Heather went in together and got me a iPod nano. The grandparents all spent cards (and money). All in all it was a good birthday.

Last Class

I am in my last tonight. I am actually in my class right now. Please keep Heather in your prayers she is still sick but she is feeling better. Well I had better get off this the professor just got here.

My Saturday

We had our last track meet this past Saturday, and I think it went pretty good. Both of my discus throwers placed, and I did not have any problems running off Shot Put. I spent the afternoon watching the running events in the press box. It was a long day, but a good one. I did hit me after I got home that I may have just coached for the last time. Part of me is sad because of this. Part of me is also excited to see what God has planned for me next. It will take some getting use to, but I am sure in time I will be okay with it. I hope all of you have a great week.

Heather Laughed At This One

You Are a Boston Creme Donut

You have a tough exterior. No one wants to mess with you.
But on the inside, you're a total pushover and completely soft.
You're a traditionalist, and you don't change easily.
You're likely to eat the same doughnut every morning, and pout if it's sold out.

Heather Agrees Again

You Are Likely an Only Child

At your darkest moments, you feel frustrated.
At work and school, you do best when you're organizing.
When you love someone, you tend to worry about them.

In friendship, you are emotional and sympathetic.
Your ideal careers are: radio announcer, finance, teaching, ministry, and management.
You will leave your mark on the world with organizational leadership, maybe as the author of self-help books.

Heather Agrees

You Are Balanced - Realist - Powerful

You feel your life is controlled both externally and internally.
You have a good sense of what you can control and what you should let go.
Depending on the situation, you sometimes try to exert more control.
Other times, you accept things for what they are and go with the flow.

You are a realist when it comes to luck.
You don't attribute everything to luck, but you do know some things are random.
You don't beat yourself up when bad things happen to you...
But you do your best to try to make your own luck.

When it comes to who's in charge, it's you.
Life is a kingdom, and you're the grand ruler.
You don't care much about what others think.
But they better care what you think!

Good to Know

You Are Somewhat Machiavellian

You're not going to mow over everyone to get ahead...
But you're also powerful enough to make things happen for yourself.
You understand how the world works, even when it's an ugly place.
You just don't get ugly yourself - unless you have to!

Barcelona or Mesquite......let me think about it.

You Belong in Barcelona

When it comes to Europe, you don't want to decide between culture and fun. You want art by day and a big party by night.
Barcelona is ideal for you. You can check out some Picasso, eat some tapas, take a siesta, and then dance all night!

What do you think?

Your Scholastic Strength Is Evaluating

You are great at looking at many details and putting them all together.
You are talented at detecting subtle trends, accuracy, and managing change.

You should major in:

Statistics
Speech
Conflict studies
Communication
Finance
Medicine

G/T Training

Today I had my last class for G/T Training. It was at SMU and I did not feel like it was a waste of my day so that is always good. I did leave a little early (I should have listen to my wife….she is smart) but I did take a book and the extra time I had I spent reading. I am almost done reading the “The Historian”. I have about 20 pages left. I am home now and very tired. I think I will go take a nap. Have a great day and week.
