At the Mall

I was at the mall today wasting time while someone was looking at our house. I was able to find some nice polo type shirts and a book to buy. While I was walking around I started to get thirsty. So I wondered over to my favorite cookie place to buy a drink. Why buy a drink there? It smells really good, and since I cannot eat cookies right now at least I can smell them. Anyway, when I ordered my large diet coke the lady helping me said “No cookie today?” and I replied “No, I am on a diet and my wife would get mad if I ate a cookie”. Now when I said this she stopped what she was doing looked up at me and asked if I could wait a moment I said yes I can, and in a few seconds she returned with a very pretty Indian (dot not feather) girl that appeared to be in her late teens maybe early twenties. When she brought her over to me the lady asked if I would tell her what I just said, so I did. Come to find out these two women had just been talking about men and relationships and the Indian girl has had several bad relationships and the guys she dated all lied to her. And, the other lady was trying to convince her that there are good guys out there and so on and so forth. Apparently the lady was impressed that I would tell my wife if I cheated on my diet, and not just lie about it or not tell her. Well, we stood there for about 5 minutes talking, and in the end I think I convinced the young Indian girl that the best place to meet a good guy is church. I got the feeling she does not go to church now, but it would not take much to get her going back. She asked where I go and we talked about different religions/churches and in the end I told her to find a church she liked, then look for a guy there. Hopefully my words had an impact on her, and she will both go to church and find a good man.
It is amazing how many different ways your life can go. One moment I am ordering a diet coke and the next I could be changing a girl’s life. I guess the lesson is to always be prepared, because you never know when God is going to call on you.
